SJ is a sim racing community that strives for close racing and gentlemanly conduct.  We have no minimum time or skill requirement.  All we ask is that our members treat thier fellow Simjunkies with respect, both on the forum and on the track.

    The second Arse2010 event, at the Top Gear Test Track in the Mini Cooper, took place on Friday 5th.  With Byron turning up late, having been busy playing with his dolls, it was left to Great Uncle Peter to man the tombola.  Once he’d shown everyone his famous ping-pong ball trick, we were all set to go.

RACE OnThe first thing I did when I launched the game was to test out the new US track racers. I expected heavy “truck feeling” cars with bad brakes, tail happy as a dancer in a rap video, but boy was I wrong.  I am not saying that is a bad thing, although I must admit that I miss the feel of losing control in an overpowered car like the US Muscle Cars.  Read more...

GTR EvoSimbin was kind enough to supply SJ with a pre-release copy of the long awaited GTR Evolution, so that we could have a server up and running ready for the game’s Steam release, which is imminent. Since it was lying about, I thought it would be a good idea for someone to try it out, and I saw it first, so I appointed myself official SJ reviewer.  Read more...

PedalsI had seen the Fanatec pedals mentioned on insidesimracing.com and they had spoken very highly of the pre-production prototype that they had been testing. I looked at the CST pedals and was forced to make a decision between them and the wife’s anger (call me chicken and see if I care!) TIR LogoI have been lucky enough to get hold of Naturalpoint's new TrackIR5 to test. I have wanted a TrackIR for a long time, but never got around to buying one. I wonder why, because now that I have used one for about 2-3 weeks, I cannot really think of gaming without it. I will get back to that later.  Read more...
